Our chapter takes seriously its mission of protecting our region's coldwater fisheries and watersheds. We have many streams in our area with native cutthroat trout and we work hard to protect and expand habitat for this fragile species.

Our conservation activities include: restoration of native cutthroat habitat in Hermosa Creek; annual clean-ups on the Animas River; searching for solutions to the mine drainage problem in the upper Anima and strong participation in River Protection Workgroups to protect all major local rivers.
